LEA AQUINO ABABA, 32, of Protacio Street, Pasay
City, gave birth to a healthy baby girl last May 5, 2005. But hers is
unlike many other childbirths: She was the first LRT passenger to give
birth inside one of the stations. She gave birth on her way to the
Fabella Memorial Hospital for a checkup.
After assessing the situation, civil security
officer Noel Catorce immediately informed the clinic at the Central Station.
The nurse on duty, Juliet Carpio, then proceeded to the Doroteo Jose
Station, and with the assistance of CSO Catorce, brought Mrs. Ababa to the
Fabella Memorial Hospital. She was attended to by Dr. Jenny Mae San
Luis.
The baby was named Dorotea, after the name of
the station where was born. Mother an daughter recently visited LRTA
Administrator Mel Robles on a courtesy call. In the spirit of the
Yuletide season, Administrator Robles gave them some souvenirs from the
Light Rail Transit Authority and a small amount.

A lively, bouncy and healthy girl, Dorotea Ababa

Doroteo Jose Station.
