Atty. Rafael S. Rodriguez assumes office on Monday, August
16, 2010 as the new Administrator of the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA),
together with Engr. Emerson L. Benitez as the new Deputy Administrator for
Administrative, Finance & Automated Fare Collection System. In a ceremonial
turn-over, held at the LRTA office in Pasay City, Melquiades A. Robles,
outgoing Administrator in his short message bid farewell to LRTA employees,
expressing appreciation for the support they have given him during his
6-year stint in the Authority.

Lawyer Rafael S. Rodriguez, former
Managing Partner of the Rodriguez De los Santos and Naidas Law Offices
assumed office on Monday, August 16, 2010 as Administrator of the Light Rail
Transit Authority (LRTA).
Outgoing Administrator Melquiades A. Robles
turned-over the post and management of the Authority to Rodriguez during the
flag ceremony at the LRT Line 1 depot in Pasay City.
The event was graced by Transportation and
Communications Undersecretary for Rails Glicerio Sicat together with
newly-appointed Deputy Administrator Engr. Emerson L. Benitez and Head
Executive Assistant Atty. Diosdado Silva and witnessed by the officers and
staff of the Authority.
Atty.
Rafael S. Rodriguez as the new Head of the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA)
vows in Filipino: "Doon tayo sa matuwid na landas" (We shall follow the
right way.) as he delivers his short message to the employees. Present in
the turn-over ceremony are DoTC Undersecretary Glicerio Sicat, LRTA Deputy
Administrator Engr. Emerson L. Benitez and Head Executive Assistant Atty.
Diosdado Silva.
In the ceremonial turn-over, Rodriguez
thanked the LRTA employees for their warm welcome and stressed that the goal
of his administration is to upgrade the quality of service by ensuring the
public with fast, safe, reliable and responsive rail transport system.
He said: "Ang hamon na ating haharapin ay
maihatid ang ating mga kababayan sa kani-kanilang pupuntahan ng maayos at
mapanatili natin na tumatakbo ang tren sa tamang oras."
Rodriguez also hopes that everyone in the
Authority will work together as a team to meet LRTA's corporate vision and
mission.
On the other hand, Robles expressed his
appreciation to the LRTA officers and employees who showed support and
cooperation to his administration through out his six-year term as the
Administrator of the Authority.
The turn-over ceremony was shortly followed
by a briefing with the LRTA officers and a Management Committee Meeting.
Rodriguez is a lawyer and business management practitioner, who has rendered
services to various private companies and government institutions.
