LRT may also stand as Labor-Ready Train or Labor-Ready Terminal as it plays host to the miracle of life to a number of passengers.
Another pregnant woman gave birth to a baby girl inside the patrol car of Kaizen (LRTA Security Agency) on Friday noon while she was being rushed to the nearest hospital.
Tessalle Gomez, 18, of Imus, Cavite was on her way to Fabella Memorial Hospital when she felt an excruciating pain in her stomach, prompting her to alight at Central Station in Aroceros, Manila.
A safety officer of LRTA saw Gomez in distress beside the stairs at the platform area of the Central Station and immediately called the attention of the in-coming Head Guard Elena Castro.
Gomez was brought to the LRT Clinic and Mabel Delliova, nurse-on-duty immediately sought the assistance of Castro and PR staff Remer Cuares to rush the laboring mom to Jose Reyes Hospital. However, before they reach the hospital, she already delivered her second baby inside the car.
LRT management was delighted with the unselfish service rendered by its personnel especially Castro who has been regarded as a heroine ever since she saved a life of a woman who gave birth at the platform of Pedro Gil Station last October 30, 2010.
"Apart from our regular duties to ferry passengers safely to their destinations, it is also our responsibility to render service to anyone who is need of immediate assistance at the revenue line. This is a policy that we keep reminding our LRTA employees," reiterates LRTA Administrator Rafael S. Rodriguez.
