LRTA Mascot Design

The Light Rail Transit Authority will be
holding a Mascot Design Contest in line with the formal launching of its
Metro By Rail Tour on July 12, 2008. We are inviting interested individuals
to the contest.

Manila By Rail Tour Concept |
The Metro By Rail Tour is a campaign
that will promote rail tourism by integrating leisure and educational
tours using the LRT and MRT trains as the main mode of transportation.
The tour is mainly a group tour where the participants will be treated
to a whole new experience through rail-based adventures featuring a view
from the top of Manila’s urban landscape and a walkthrough on the LRTA
operations, showcasing the newly-installed state-of-the-art technologies
on signaling and operations control, as well as the soon to be opened
LRTA Museum and LRTA Kids Train Park. Tours are accompanied by guides
and/or guest lecturers. |

- How to join:
- Interested parties may get their
registration forms from any of the following offices:
- Customer Relations Office –
Central Terminal, Arroceros, Manila
- Public Assistance Office –
Recto, Legarda, Pureza, V. Mapa, J. Ruiz, Gilmore, Betty Go-Belmonte,
Araneta Center-Cubao, Anonas, Katipunan and Santolan
stations.
- Each participant may submit a
maximum of two (2) entries only.
- Entries must be placed in a
sealed long brown envelope, together with the registration form
and a photocopy of any valid ID. Do not place any name or mark
outside of the envelope, otherwise entries shall be
disqualified.
- Deadline for submission is on
June 23, 2008.
- Only one winner shall be chosen
based on the following criteria:
- Concept/Message - 40%
- Originality - 30%
- Impact - 30%
- The mascot design must be printed in
a short sized paper and mounted in an 8.5” x 11” black illustration
board. A copy of the design must be placed in a CD in JPEG format
along with the filename to be placed inside the long brown envelope
together with the registration form and valid ID.
- All entries shall be placed on
exhibit at the Line 2 Araneta Center – Cubao Center Station from
July 7 – 12, 2008.
- The winner shall be notified by
phone and newspaper advertisement via Inquirer Libre and Commuters
Xpress.
- PhP 5, 000 cash prize plus gift
items and 6 free SV tickets to LRT Lines 1&2 shall be given to the
winner. Awarding of prizes will be on July 12, 2008 during the
launching of the Metro by Rail Tour Program.
- All entries shall become property of
the LRTA.
- The decision of the Board of Judges
is final.
