LRTA girds for Black Nazarene Feast Day
The Light Rail Transit
Authority is preparing for a heavy influx of passengers on
Saturday when tens of thousands of devotees from all walks of
life are expected to take part in the annual celebration of the
Feast Day of the Black Nazarene.
LRTA Administrator Melquiades
Robles said they are prepared to field 24 trains with 2 spares
to service the devotees and their regular passengers.

Annual LRTA ridership sets all-time high
The Light Rail Transit
Authority capped a year full of milestones with yet another
record breaking feat as it set a new record for the most number
of passengers for a single year.
LRTA Administrator Melquiades
Robles said a total of 149.44 million passengers used the
Baclaran-Monumento Line (Line 1) in 2009, beating the old record
of 145.83 million passengers set in 1994.

LRTA to allow folded bikes on board
The Light Rail Authority goes
greener as it combines two of the worlds eco-friendly modes of
transportation ? bikes and train ? through a new initiative
called the ?Bike On, Bike Off (BIKE-O2) Project.? The project
encourages car users to leave their vehicles at home and take
the train, bring along their foldable bikes, hop off the
station, and bike off towards their workplace, school, and other
destinations.

coming All Saint?s and All Soul?s Day on Sunday and Monday,
respectively.
